Mrs. Alexis Wright

I am a graduate student at Mercer University in the marriage and family therapy program. I am also a certified special education teacher and I have been teaching for eleven years in the Cobb County School District. Prior to teaching, I served as a children’s and youth minister at several local churches.

My Journey

My journey to becoming a therapist has been full of excitement and learning. I am a people person and enjoy talking and learning new things about others. As a special education teacher, I get the opportunity to build relationships with both students and their parents. I realized that one of my favorite parts of my job is the connections with families and the positive influence they allow me have on the education journey of their children. I also saw how the families are in need of someone that understands their emotional and mental journey in raising their children into adulthood and beyond.

My Style

My goal is to provide therapy with a relaxed atmosphere so individuals can feel comfortable to be themselves. My therapeutic style is direct with humor and compassion.

My Area of Specialty

I have a passion for families with special needs and development over the lifespan including relationships, sexuality, education, and aging.
